Do you use Facebook?

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to start  a  topic to see if there is anyone here on BD that uses Facebook and if so, what do you use it for? Do you use it just to chat with friends or distant family? Do you use it as day to day timeline of your life (yes, some people do this for some reason), do you use it to share photos and videos, do you use it to view pages or groups, maybe you use it to promote a bussiness or bussinesses?


I know that a couple users on BD that I know on a more personal level have a Facebook and use it regularly/daily while others have an account, but rarely ever go on it.


I also seem to always hear people say they don't use Facebook anymore, but they use Twitter and Instagram. Then if you try and bring up Facebook in a conversation, they say 'FACEBOOK! WHO USES FACEBOOK ANYMORE?' and I always roll my eyes because I mean its not like Myspace that died down awhile ago.

We will see when it gets fully discontinued I guess.

I will admit it doesn't look as terrible as I thought originally, however, I am still going to use the current one until they force me to use the new one.

From what I know, Classic Facebook will only last until the end of July.

It looks like it is still the classic Facebook right now. Unless the new version of Facebook starts on August 1

Well I still have the classic and I like it.

Unfortunately Facebook's "Classic" Version will be no more as of August 1st so Brandon and myself will just have to try and get used to its new version.

I am sure the new version of Facebook rolled out yesterday. I haven't really noticed anything new with it. It looks the same as the classic version. Unless there is something new about this new version of Facebook

It turns out that I was wrong about Facebook's "Classic" version. It still exists as of 10:00 AM CDST on 8/3/2020, and I'm still using it.

Yep indeed, I dont know when they getting rid of it but hopefully it won't be for awhile.

even the classic version don't look so classic on the news feeds yes i get the Blue bar makes it look Classic but it still looks more modern then actual classic to me at least classic would be like facebook 2011 that's what i would call classic for me.

It still looks pretty classic to me with the blue.

It seems it is still the classic version. Not sure when the new version of Facebook will be coming out. I am sure it will be at some point. If it is not before the end of the summer then I am sure some time in the fall

i'm already on the newer version of facebook so it might take some time for some people

Mine is also still on the classic version thankfully.

I am also still on the Classic version of Facebook, but am willing to give the new version a chance.

Just learned that the classic version of Facebook will be no more as of September 1st.
I for one am NOT happy about this, but could get used to seeing and using the new version of this site.

Well it hasn't told me to update to the new version of Facebook. I only see a new sign in screen for Facebook. The rest looks like the classic version. It seems interesting they are rolling it out on a Tuesday which is September 1st. I am having trouble trying to get into my Liked pages. That is quite annoying after a while. Everything else has been fine for me

so far i have not had much of an issue with the layout but i think it's different for each user.

I myself am still getting used to Facebook's new layout.

Facebook tried to switch me over to the new Facebook, but I switched it back .

Such will NOT be an option after September Brandon, so you will be using Facebook's "New" version whether you like it or not. I for one am kinda annoyed that this version of FB isn't allowing me to tag friends in my posts now to be honest.

Well as I have said before, when Facebook forcing me to use the new version, I will do so. Until then I will continue to use the 'classic' version.

There is certainly nothing wrong with doing this Brandon. I myself have started using the "NEW" version of Facebook and it takes some getting used to.
