Do you use Facebook?

First topic message reminder :

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to start  a  topic to see if there is anyone here on BD that uses Facebook and if so, what do you use it for? Do you use it just to chat with friends or distant family? Do you use it as day to day timeline of your life (yes, some people do this for some reason), do you use it to share photos and videos, do you use it to view pages or groups, maybe you use it to promote a bussiness or bussinesses?


I know that a couple users on BD that I know on a more personal level have a Facebook and use it regularly/daily while others have an account, but rarely ever go on it.


I also seem to always hear people say they don't use Facebook anymore, but they use Twitter and Instagram. Then if you try and bring up Facebook in a conversation, they say 'FACEBOOK! WHO USES FACEBOOK ANYMORE?' and I always roll my eyes because I mean its not like Myspace that died down awhile ago.

use an ad Blocker that's all i do and it has helped get rid of them alot

True but companies like Facebook and Google know how to make ads that adblocker doesn't block.

oh it blocks them trust me i use an ad blocker called U Block Origin it blocks 100% of ads that Adblock Plus refuses to block and alot of it is facebook ads and this blocks them so.

So it blocks Youtube ads as well?

That is awesome. This is the first time I heard about this one. I have been using Adblock the whole time. It does block any ads on Facebook and mostly on YouTube too. Not sure it would do that on YouTube. But it is great to see it does block all ads

I also wanted to mention I did notice after watching live videos on here. There is a option on the video to watch it again or share the video. That is one thing I did notice. I just wanted to share that

Yeah Facebook is basically trying to compete with Youtube by having live streamed videos remain available until taken down.

Yes that is true. I do see a lot of live streams on Facebook and YouTube at the same time. It seems it is real popular thing to do

i do streams on facebook at times to engage more with people on my group page at time

Yes primarily because of the ease of use, however, you better not play anything copyrighted on Facebook or your in trouble!

when i stream to the group page i don't play any copyrighted music but sometimes it will slip in i have not got any take downs even with a Little bit even if it's playing really low the idea is not for facebooks content ID system to pick it up if not at all.

I have seen that in your group. I haven't stream on there at all. I am sure it would be real cool but I would find some time to stream on there

you should try it sometime it's great for interacting with your fans of BGRN you can also do a Live Stream before a show if you wanted to i have done that before as well Facebook Live streaming is very easy

I'm not so sure that streaming on Facebook is the best of ideas as it has extremely overbearing copyright rules. Also, the login screen has been changed.

only i don't stream copyrighted music when i go on it's mainly an after show chat session of sorts or a pre show chat i never stream copyrighted music on facebook.

That's a good idea!

i use the streaming as away to interact sometimes just posting about the show sometimes isn't enough i use the Live streaming to take it to the next Level and it does work and it also depends on when you go live too i try to shoot for late afternoon sometime it all depends on how i feel and if i want to stream or not on facebook

I am sure there is some people who love to stream on there. It seems they have made changes on the live stream since there is scrolling bands on either side. It also covers up some the emotions they got there. It was fine before they changed it but I am guessing they had to make some changes with the live streaming. I still haven't had any time to stream on there. First I had to figure out how to stream on there if I did want to stream on there. But I don't see that happening any time soon

on mobile it is very easy you tap on the Live video thing to go live on desktop and i have done this a couple of times you click on Live video it brings you to a window to do the same thing but website wise no need for OBS since i started streaming on my group page every now and then for the fun of it

Well that would be help with having a newer phone. Since with iPhone 4 I can't go live on my phone at all. Not what I would want to. But still it real popular now with streaming on Facebook and YouTube too. I mostly just watch live steams since I don't feel like I need to go live on Facebook at all

i have a 5S and streaming works really well it's about the only thing the Phone can do well with anyways i have not been live from my phone for like a couple of weeks i will be doing more facebook streams in December so i can keep everyone up to date with shows ect.
