Do you use Facebook?

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to start  a  topic to see if there is anyone here on BD that uses Facebook and if so, what do you use it for? Do you use it just to chat with friends or distant family? Do you use it as day to day timeline of your life (yes, some people do this for some reason), do you use it to share photos and videos, do you use it to view pages or groups, maybe you use it to promote a bussiness or bussinesses?


I know that a couple users on BD that I know on a more personal level have a Facebook and use it regularly/daily while others have an account, but rarely ever go on it.


I also seem to always hear people say they don't use Facebook anymore, but they use Twitter and Instagram. Then if you try and bring up Facebook in a conversation, they say 'FACEBOOK! WHO USES FACEBOOK ANYMORE?' and I always roll my eyes because I mean its not like Myspace that died down awhile ago.

yeah there really is nothing wrong with brandon holding onto it a bit longer.

It seems to be the classic version for me. Only the login screen looks different. Not sure how the new version is suppose to look like but I haven't seen it yet unless it is still happening on September 1st

the new version is suppose to look the same as it is on your phone but with a more web scaled version of it.

Oh I see. The one on the app of my phone looks a lot different than the one on the website. Not sure if that is part of the new version or not. I did notice that the login screen looks different too

it's suppose to work across the board think of it as the facebook Lite app it's about the same as that it's kind of the same.

Well the app keeps changing around. The one it looked different than the other day I went on it then looked like it used to. The website still looks the same as it did. Not sure if the new design is suppose to look like that or not

From what I've seen, Classic Facebook is now only available for another 48 hours. Such is a sad thing, but progress will always march on regardless of how people feel about it.

As of a week ago, they now only let you switch back to classic Facebook temporarily for 48 hours at a time before it auto switches back to 'New Facebook'. It does seem like Classic Facebook is in it's final days of existence now.

Nonetheless, I still keep switching it back to new Facebook, and will do so until I am no longer able to do so.

48 hours that's still along time to use the classic version i had to use classic once to post to my group page for snapshots  due to the fact it wouldn't let me post under the new one that lasted like a day then i switched back the new version still has bugs they need to work out yet but that was the only time i had to switch back was to post to my group page.

48 hours is only 2 days. So you can basically only use Classic 2 days at a time now until they fully do it away. Which probably won't be long now. I am still not much of a fan of the new look.

Though I suppose it will just take some getting used to once I am forced into it.

Not sure what is going on. Nothing would load when I was on there in the early morning before going to bed. I had to post on my timeline since nothing was working. It still seems like the classic version to me. The app for Facebook keeps changing so it is different every time I go on there. Not sure when the new version will be working properly

i don't really use facebook classic much anymore being that i'm trying to get use to the new version i hear there going to remove the classic version soon anyways so you won't have that option anymore to even switch back.

My profile seems to have stopped switching back to new Facebook for the time being. Which I am happy about.

Well I am still on the classic version here. It did mess up on me but it went back to normal again. I have no idea how to switch back and forth from the classic version to the new version. I am happy how it is now

Classic is from what i found out will be gone at the end of this month so from seeing some of the comments in one of robin's Post of how she hates the new layout same thing happend with youtube when they to changed there layout a couple of years back people had to get use to it.

I am used to youtube's current layout and have no issues with it. I'm also used to Facebook's new look too now.

I am guessing I am still on still on the classic version of Facebook. It still looks the same to me. Just the app keeps changing every time I go on my phone. I am sure I will have to get used to the new version of Facebook I do see it. I am getting used to the new login screen for Facebook

Just letting you all know that, as of 10:05 PM CDST on 9/21/2020, I can no longer switch back to the classic version of Facebook.

i still have the Switch Back to Classic for 48 hours option still so it hasn't gone away yet.

As of October 2nd classic Facebook is still available folks. I am milking every last minute of it.

well that's good it's no longer available to me i'm stuck on the new version

I've been stuck on the new version of Facebook for about 5 months now, but I continue to have a "jury's out" approach to it.

I am guessing I am still on classic version of Facebook. It still looks the same to me. It hasn't mentioned anything about switching to the new version yet. Just get these odd notifications about some Summit with the owner of Facebook and some other guy. Along with this other notification about new things has have happened on Facebook. Good thing I read it since it messed everything up. I had to restart to my browser and clear the browsing history along with relogin into Facebook to fix it. The only new thing I do see is the login screen
