Do you use Facebook?

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to start  a  topic to see if there is anyone here on BD that uses Facebook and if so, what do you use it for? Do you use it just to chat with friends or distant family? Do you use it as day to day timeline of your life (yes, some people do this for some reason), do you use it to share photos and videos, do you use it to view pages or groups, maybe you use it to promote a bussiness or bussinesses?


I know that a couple users on BD that I know on a more personal level have a Facebook and use it regularly/daily while others have an account, but rarely ever go on it.


I also seem to always hear people say they don't use Facebook anymore, but they use Twitter and Instagram. Then if you try and bring up Facebook in a conversation, they say 'FACEBOOK! WHO USES FACEBOOK ANYMORE?' and I always roll my eyes because I mean its not like Myspace that died down awhile ago.

so far they have not rolled it out site wide yet maybe there listening to there users for once.

No the plan according to Twitter is to roll it out over the next few months.

Well it hasn't changed on the app on my phone since I am using iPhone 4. I am sure I would see it on newer phone with the app. But there has been a lot of changes so far. They have also added live video. I haven't been live on there at all. I just post pictures or short videos. I haven't did any live videos at all. It is mostly checking out the groups I am part or along with my favorite pages on there. I also do watch the live stream for my church on on their page. But that is mostly all I do on there. I use to a long time ago share the link to my live stream of my show but I haven't did that recently. Mostly because I haven't did a show in a long time. That is the only the other thing that I did on there. I don't too much on there. I do see some of my friends are going live but I don't get around to seeing their shows at all

i have the new app and i'm on the iphone 5s i don't like it but still trying to get use to it also there suppose to be changing the website soon as well so far i got the old layout still  but who knows

They will be changing the entire site around in a few months time and I am not really a fan of the preview they showed on Twitter either so.

Liked or not, this is how Facebook is going to be from now on so the only thing we can do is try and accept it (even if its done very begrudgingly). I have seen how FB's new app looks, as I currently have it on iPhone5. I am neutral on the new look, but I will admit that I'm still getting used to it.

I just hope whatever they do on the new site layout they dont ruin the facebook page's layout, cause they have it on the app now is just plain awful.

Let's hope they don't cuz it be a real shame if they did and i will be pissed if they messed with the Pages.

I haven't used Facebook in a few years so I really don't care personally either way.

As long as they don't mess up the pages or group features too much I suppose I woild get used to it.

i might get use to it as well if they don't make it like the mobile version of facebook

It looks like the same on my app for Facebook on my iPhone. But it could be the older version of the app. Unless they update the app for all phones. Not sure about that. I did see that my Liked pages were all looking different. It was a small picture of the page then when you clicked on it then it went into a new window. That was different but that was another change I did see. I am sure there will be more changes. I do see most of the changes by going to the website on my laptop. I don't notice any changes on the app on my phone

I have to add I am not a big fan of these pictures of Stories of people I do follow on there or even adding my story on there. It is real annoying since I do got scroll down to post about what I am listening to or what I am watching or even posting pictures on there. That is my short little rant about the latest changes on Facebook. I just wanted to share my thoughts

Yeah both Facebook and Youtube have started doing that and I am not sure why they show you stories from people you are not friends with or that you don't follow.

I am also not too sure why YouTube is doing this but I do have a theory about why this is happening on FB.

so far i have not had this cuz all my settings are locked down to friends only so i only see stories from friends only.

Because their are trying to give content creators (Youtubers) more ways to reach their fans. The problem is, the algorithm is all over the place still and shows you 'stories' for channels you may have never even watched or heard of before.

Well most of the time I would see it from my friends or pages I have liked since they post stories a lot more often. It was moved down a bit but still quite annoying since I still have to scroll down to see what I did post. I did watch some of these stories but it seems it could take up a lot of time just watching stories on there. But it is just one of the many changes on there. Just wanted to add my thoughts on how annoying it looked with these changes. I still get annoyed going on there to post stuff. I know it didn't very long at all just it gets too annoying after a while. That is just my thoughts

Any word on that new site layout and design I heard people talking about?

thank god it has not rolled out yet but they have been moving things around alot.

Yeah, I personally hope they delay it as long as possible.

No I haven't heard anything yet. Still being annoyed by these Stories being in my way the whole time. I haven't added a story on there since my birthday last year. It seems people do like doing stories on there. It much at all just a short video you watch on there and then go onto the next one. I am sure they will be changing more things on there. I do see the live streams on there are much different than they were before. I was in one today and it said that someone shared this live stream. That was something new I did see. But I am sure there is more coming at some point

a site re design is coming down the pipeline and messaging will not be the same anymore either that's going to suck for the most part

Yes it seems they want to make messages more like how they are in the app.

that's going to suck if they do that something i will have to force myself to get use to.
