New Sound Room

Well it's official, i have begun working on my sound room in my garage, i began putting up the walls today, got most of it done. I will be posting pictures, eventually.  The best thing about it is that i can mark up the room with having to heat up the entire garage   I want to get it done as quickly, but seems the money part is going to slow mw down a bit. Good thing i'm doing the work myself, or that would be another expense.  Till my next update... Keep Rocking

Update:Update: here is where i'm at for the moment, till i can rid of this Flu, there is nothing else i can do.

















Best part of this build is the heat is staying steady with just the plastic up, once i insulate and sheetrock the wall it will be nice and cozy in here!

You and i both, kinda in a holding pattern right now , this flu has been kicking my ass for 3 days now. 3 days that could have been used toward working on the room.

Once i get back in the swing need to insulate the walls, but some drywall up , the door and then set it up.. still a long way to go, hopefully by the summer it should be finally completed, that is if nothing else happens.

Thanks Buddy! , she is the one that wants me to build it, she "CLAIMS"my music is always toooo load
SO i have the green light from her.

Phase 2 is now complete, i have insulated the room with (Rockwool) and covered it up with plastic. 
Attached are pictures of the room as it sits.  Phase 3 will be sheetrocking and painting. 

Coming along great BlackScorpion. I see insullation, so it must be nice and warm in there now huh .

Also I am glad you got the wife's approval, that is always good to have. Like they say, a happy wife is a happy life!

Thanks Guys, i can't seem to get it done any faster, every time i set time aside to work on it something comes up. Today , i had to go to the Verizon phone store, spent 2 hours with them getting new phones.
when i got home, i didn't feel like working on it.

That is usually the way it goes. I am sure you will find time to get it done sooner or later.

I worked construction when i was younger, so i still do my own work.

well worked on the room this weekend, finally got the drywall up and spackled. It's coming along nicely, next phase will be painting, which my wife will do, while i'm at work  Anyways as always attached are the images of the room in it's current condition.

Looks great. You sure cleaned up that room nicely as well. Looks like a lot less clutter in there now.

Will you be putting a door in the doorway?

 Thanks Brandon, Yeah had to remove everything from the room  to get going on it, yes i will be putting a door in, once i'm done with all the spackling.

the room is looking really nice can't wait to see it when it's all done

My bedroom is all drywall too.
Sadly I had an issue with water getting in a couple of years ago, but this has been fixed now.
The interior work took a little longer to complete, but this has also been done now.

 I love drywall, it's so easy to put up and repair, even for a  dummy like me.

I should mention that the water issue happened in the ceiling of my bedroom. Its been fixed now.

Things will happen that is beyonds anyones fault. Last big rainstorm we had about a year ago, i had water inside the garage, even with all i did to prevent it from ever happening.  

ON another side note, last night i did the touch up of the spackle and wet sanding. gonna give it a day or two and have my wife prime it then paint it. That is if i still have a job in the next couple of days?

As you can see the ceiling and walls are all done  . 

tiny update: Room has been primed with grey primer and ready for paint, unfortunately with the way the times are, i might have to wait to complete the room. Shorter hour at work and less money being brought into the house means the projects will have to take a back seat for now.
