no, the drop bridge is still on the "yet to be built" shelf, i took a pic of it to show you what it looks like.

Such is a photo of what currently exists. The current bridge is to be replaced with a drop bridge... eventually.

i'm just happy they turned out well, and now you guys can all see how containers are shipped by rail today

agreed, they are good. Btw, the car seen behind the well car with the 53' foot container above the 48' one is an old passenger car that has been converted for use as an office (since it was damaged in an accident and was deemed no longer safe for use by passengers as a result of this accident).

isn't it? there's lots of stories about old railroad equipment, Cabooses and passenger coaches mostly, bein' rescued and turned to other uses

I read an article about old New york city subway cars being taken onto a ferry... brought out to the middle of the river, then thrown overboard as a reef

the only other thing done is sending them to be recycled at a rolling mill, where they are turned into new car parts.

i've seen many a train of nothing but badly damaged and scrapped equipment rolling off along the mains, some 2 miles long. and here's a new pic showing the progress of phase 3
