Re: webcam mic?
Well the headset microphone is better for talk radio or talk shows.... some webcam microphones are good for music and some aren't! so I would just stick too the webcam mic.

Re: webcam mic?
Usually webcam microphones aren't that great. And it all depends. All microphones are different. I would go with the headset microphone though.

I also use a webcam mic, but this may be on its last legs so I might have to try and purchase a headset mice when/if I can.

I know the feeling. Well i wish you luck on finding a microphone. If you need pointers I can point you to a few decent websites where you can buy a microphone at decent price.

Re: webcam mic?
Just in case anyone is wondering, a friend of mine from england has sent me a new webcam so I may be having less problems when I do my stickam live shows soon. However, there's been a mail delay so I'm sorry to say that my tech issues will be continuing for a little while longer.

Hmmm... Well seems alright to, for the record Arthur is a dj for my radio station and on his own show.
Re: webcam mic?
Well, I am a little put off by the fact that I have to turn mic boost on quite often during my shows and the new cam that I'll be getting eventually will mean that such will be no longer needed. I'm also having issues with camera placement, but that is something that only I can solve.

Re: webcam mic?
most webcams have an internal mic, but it very much depends on the brand, all i know is most Logitech cams have a mic built in.

Re: webcam mic?
maybe, but many of them do not have a plug and play mic like the Logitech ones do.

Actually most of them do.
Re: webcam mic?
if they re a USB connection, they're plug and pay across the board, meaning all functions will be recognized by your OS as soon as you plug it in, unless you run an OS below Windows XP, but that's pretty rare these days

Most webcams are USB, unless they are built in which case they work off the computer's internal power supply (battery).
Re: webcam mic?
maybe, but Any OS under Windows XP will not recognize anything with a USB connection. but like i said, few computers run anything under XP these days, even XP is rare these days

If you are running on anything under xp, you will not surfing the modern web. The techonology just wouldn't be able to handle it. Too out dated.

I said MODERN web browsing. Modern browsers and websites have been sigificantly advanced since xp and under... Any OS under it would more likely not have the hardware or software capabilites to do much of anything. I had an old XP computer, kept crashing, we would fix it and it would crash again a month later. The reason was because the computer just couldn't handle the advanced browsers and software needed to browse the web today. It simply was not designed for it. So unless you upgrade your hardware, you won't be able to do much without your computer getting overloaded by the advanced software and crashing.
