Do you use OBS?

Post by Brandon on Thu 15 Mar 2018, 3:33 pm

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone else uses OBS (Open Broadcasting Software) as a media encoder to stream their casts? I started using it about a month ago or so, it seems to work well. It doesn't use alot of cpu usage and audio and video run crystal clear once you have the settings right.

I did use OBS to stream video games. The stream quality will depend on your actual internet connection but I believe the software is one of the better (if not the best) tools to stream.

For example I have 100mb download, 10mb upload of internet connection and I could stream at a high quality. The only problem was my PC. I had to stream to a lower quality than my connection allowed because if not, my PC would lag.

Anyways it doesn't consume a lot of resources and as I said above it's one of the best tools to stream.

Plus it's also very intuitive and user-friendly.

I am currently thinking about downloading this program and installing it on my PC. No final conclusion on this matter as yet however.

Thanks for sharing your input Aaron.

I also use obs, I recently purchased a pc with better specs, in hopes of getting better quality out of it. First show was good, but not perfect because I gotta get the settings down pat.

Anyway my point is obs is good, doesnt actually require much to run and works very well. I do recommend it. Smile

Well personally I think obs is a really great software, especially when you consider it is open source, so 100% free to use every feature. Very Happy
