Post by TigerTankFan Mon 25 Dec 2017, 1:28 pm

If anyone wants to know, I have received a number of presents from one of my many friends in England. These are as follows:

-An English flag key chain
-two English Flag pins
- a Manchester United duvet cover
- an English train conductor's whistle
- A Liverpool United coin counting bank

I have also received a pair of new winter gloves from a co-worker as well as a knock-off finger spinner & a brand new "gaming" computer from my parents. As 1mtvfan is currently honoring a volunteer work commitment, none of the other presents have been opened.

So you all are just buying things for Christmas? What's the point in it if you are not celebrating anything?..

Both 1mtvfan and myself have opened all of our other presents now and, while we didn't get as much as we would like, all of them are quite good. Unfortunately I do not remember what 1mtvfan received but I know for a fact that I was given a set of gaming headphones. I honestly have no idea if I can use them for my BGRN casts but I'm trying to be optimistic.

If the microphone headset is usb then it may work. When I have time I will work with you to set it up when I have time if it is usb.

As for what I got, I got some merchandise of my favorite football team (that is american football that is, not soccer): Dallas Cowboys.

I got a tshirt with team name on it along with a pair of pants with their name and logo on them.

I also got a ceramic like decorative helmet with team logo, as well as ceramic/plastic (bit of both) decorative football with logo on it. Finally I also got a cheap little goal post thingy with the logo on it, nothing special there.

I got socks from with team logo a couple christmas's ago.

I have quite the collection of stuff now, got 2 shirts, 1 pants, 2 hats (one winter hat and one cap), a blanket (which currently hangs on my apartment wall as a decoration).

Anyway if you guys want I can post pictures of what I got here if you like?

In addition I also spent dinner with my parents at my step dad's sister's house. Was quite dilicious and had a good time. Overall not a bad christmas. Very Happy

i got lots of sugar free candy, a book on model railroad scenery, and a bunch of arsenal stuff from @DJmarverlousmart, and a fidget spinner, as well as a new computer tower although, the new comupter is windows 10 so it will be sitting in a corner for a while until i am ready to switch up from win 7 or can find a win8.1 install disc

Mine was good but it could have been better (for reasons I won't get into detail about at this time).

I wouldn't downgrade the windows 10 pc, pcs are not designed to be downgraded and doing so could mess the pc. I have seen it happen with the people who bring their pc in to be fixed where I work.

Why would you downgrade win 10 to win 8.1 when win 10 is kind of transition software from 7 to 8 hahha

Ps, why you would downgrade it anyway???

Brandon: PC is just a machine with certain hardware. It's not suggested for new Intels Core processors to be run on software below win 10, but you can always install any different software. Chromebook, Linux or any Windows, who cares?

Edit: and you can always and on any way broke your PC if you don't know how to work with it. If you don't know than leave. If you know you will not brake it. Very simple.

Happy Holidays! - Page 3 Empty Re: Happy Holidays!

Post by Brandon Wed 27 Dec 2017, 12:33 pm

Your right, windows 10 is basically windows 7 combined with windows 8. They improved it from 8 or 8.1 greatly and at this point almost all the bugs have been worked out of it.

Anyway I have seen people try to use a 8.1 disk on a windows 10 pc and it ended corrupting the whole operating system needing us to wipe the whole thing and reload 10. Problem is you would be trying to an operating system on top of operating system and the system gets very confused to which one it is supposed to be loading causing the whole thing to go corrupt. I am not saying it can not be done if you know what you are doing, but I am saying it is risky and basicly wouldn't make any sense to do at this point.

It is one thing to have a windows 7 or 8.1 pc and decide not to upgrade it, I understand that much, I personally have an 8.1 pc myself. To take a windows 10 pc , however, and downgrade it to windows 8.1 makes no sense to me since windows 10 is actually a little better if you ask me. I just wouldn't recommend downgrading a brand spanking new pc with windows 10 dwon to 8.1, windows 10 has been out almost 3 years now and 90% of the bugs are worked out and it is a pretty stable and great os now.

well, then i guess the Computer will have to sit in a corner until i am ready to upgrade, and 8.1 is a patch for win 8 that makes the start button easier to find, it is not a separate OS

For those that want to know, the headset I got as a christmas gift is not USB as it has plugs for the speakers and microphone. This means that I may not be using it for my BGRN shows, but its hard to say for sure. As for the windows 10 situation, I have chosen to remain neutral about it as the matter seems to be a major sore spot.

Personally I use win 10 and I hatr it. I't has many bugs and lack of some great features from win 7. They made everything more complicate by wanting to make it more simple. Now I can't even connect my PC and TV via HDMI and Microsoft support don't know how to solve that for months.

I'd like to downgrade to win 7 but it's too old... And I never had 8.1 or 8 (same thing).

Ein XP and maybe Vista was Great. You was able to do anything. Win 7 was pretty ok.

Win 10 is worst one full of bugs.

But that's my opinion.

Still, don't understand you, why it would sit in corner? Bro, you have a computer! Use it.

well, i am enjoying windows 7, so i see no need to upgrade to win 10 yet, so that's why the win 10 pC will sit in a corner for a while. However, this has taken us off topic

You can split that discussion from this thread.

Why you can't use both computers? Give win 10 a try Wink
