Is Netflix worth it?
First topic message reminder :
Hello everyone,
I was just curious what everyone's indiviual thoughts were on Netflix. Is it worth paying for NetFlix? I personally have no problem watching it on Youtube or waiting for it to come out in theaters and more often then not DVD. I know they get the latest releases on stuff and everything, but is it really worth spending the money on getting and paying for it? What is everyone's thoughts?

Pardon me for being overly vague here, but I think that the following lines are quite appropriate:
If you like it, go ahead and get it
If you don't like it, find something else
If you like it, go ahead and get it
If you don't like it, find something else

Re: Is Netflix worth it?
I know a few friends who use it, I don't, wouldn't waste money on such things. I am happy with youtube and the 5 dollar bin .
Re: Is Netflix worth it?
I now have a Netflix subscription, I must say they have a lot of very unique content.
Re: Is Netflix worth it?
it very much depends on your location, as they do not allow border crossing anymore

Re: Is Netflix worth it?
yes, but you cannot cross their borders anymore, if a Canadian tries to access Netflix USA, they will lose their accountBrandon wrote:What are you talking about? Netflix is all over the world.

It's understandable. I mean Canada has seperate currency, tax law, copyright laws, etc.

Re: Is Netflix worth it?
because it takes too long to see any new content on Netflix Canada, and because of the stupid copyright laws not allowing the virtual border crossing

Even if it wasnt against copyright laws, the tax laws would prevent the crossing. Netflix has to pay sales tax on every account subscription, allowing Candians to access the usa Netflix would cause sales tax and currency issues.
I find most of Netflix's content to be original stuff. If you want actual tv shows you got to use Hulu as well.
Re: Is Netflix worth it?
Hulu is a paid service, and it's a lot more pricey than Netflix

Re: Is Netflix worth it?
They are about the same price. Hulu is 11.99 without commericials, 8 dollars with commericials. Monthly over course. I dont know exactly what Netflix's is since mine is paid for via my cell phone provider, but I am pretty sure it's about the same.
Re: Is Netflix worth it?
the point is that Hulu is a paid subscription service, while Netflix is considered free, because the subscription price is so low

What are you talking about Netflix is a paid service as well. Its 8 dollars for the basic and 11 dollars for the standard (which most people get).
Hulu and Netflix are pretty much the same price.
Re: Is Netflix worth it?
well yes, but the subscription is next to nothing compared to HULU

Re: Is Netflix worth it?
A lot of Netflix's content is it's own shows or movies. Surely those aren't affected Canadian copyright law?

unfortunately, they are affectedtester12 wrote:A lot of Netflix's content is it's own shows or movies. Surely those aren't affected Canadian copyright law?
