MTV not Music TV anymore?

Hello everyone,

Is it me or is Music TV (MTV) not MTV any more. They play once or twice at night only, they have a ton of drama shows, they should just change the channel's name and move on. Do not call it Music TV when you do not play music ON TV. What does everyone else think?

yes, i Agree, it used to be the odd show, and mostly music vids, but now it's nothing but drama or reality, it's really gone downhill since it first launched. MTV live was about the only thing that i'd watch, but since it went off the air, i've never watched any of it

Yes it has gone down hill, it doesn't much sense to me why they did not stick to music? Why did they change? I think they should get a name change. Do you guys agree that MTV needs a massive name change?

Such is just a guest on my part, but maybe the network wasn't making enough money to sustain itself with music videos alone and was getting complaints about seeing the same videos more than once per day. I gotta say that I would watch shows called "Beavis and Butthead", "South Park" and "Vampire Diaries" on much music, but these were the only good shows they had.

Yeah Tigertankfan maybe so.... but they could at least play music during the day too and play a music video every like 2 commercial breaks. Don't you think?

As i have said before, the MTV network needs a name change, or better still just leave the airwaves once and for all

Agreed with 100% they need re-name themselves DramaTV or something.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt that the network will go away completely as it enjoys a great deal of popularity.

A lot of people still watch it, especially here in america, they will be around a long time, sorry tocsay, channels rarely die in the USA, It takes a LONG time to do so.

Its unlikely that MTV will go away completely, as there are still a number of people who enjoy watching the television shows that get aired on this network.

it will die eventually, the shows have been getting less and less quality over the last few years. so once people see that, they will turn it off

Exactlly what I was saying, even if they did run out 98% of thier viewership (which is Extremelly next to impossible to do, there always be viewers, even if there weren't, they could still remain on air until the money ran out (which is another 5 months after losing viewers).
