Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone, hope you've all had a happy and safe Christmas!
I have some news regarding to Phoenix Line to share with you all.
1.) The Grain Express has grown to 54 cars now, as the railroad has managed to acquire 2 more cylindrical covered hoppers. These cars are not active as yet however, as they need to be evaluated by the PLRX's safety team first. The possibility of operating two separate trains has also come up again, but nothing is 100% certain at the present time.
2.) The towns of Arlee and Timberneck Gulch have recently learned of the new railroad, and both have expressed interest in receiving service from it. Talks in regards to this have taken a break for the holiday season, but are set to resume at some point in 2020. The town of Oakdale also remains without PLRX service for now, but talks about this are continuing (they are also on hiatus for the holiday season).
Please stay tuned for further updates as the Phoenix Line's story continues.

Re: Train sets!
Hello again everyone, here's another update
As of 1:10 PM CST on 12/27/2019, the Phoenix Line's situation looks like this.
1.) Unfortunately one of the railroad's barley hoppers (road number 496085) has been derailing on a switch near Rustyville's grain elevator as of late but the track has been altered in an attempt to prevent this from happening.
2.) The railroad's undercoated 54-foot Pullman-Standard 3-bay covered hopper has arrived now. This car has been placed in the railroad's maintenance yard for an overall inspection before it gets proper ownership markings and an official road number. According to the information that's available to me, this car will be given markings for a private company called Hollbrook Farms (reporting mark HGFX) and numbered as 240710.
I am uncertain if this car will be operating in and/or with the railroad's "Grain Express" service or not at this time (as of 3:30 PM Central Standard Time on 12/27/2019), but I'll do what I can to remain informed.
I also have to say that the railroad has decided to cease buying grain hoppers after getting its 56th hopper. The priority for the railroad will be center beam and inter-modal cars after this. This will be well cars for the most part but will accept 3 and 5 unit spine cars.
Please stay tuned for further updates at this railroad's story continues.

Re: Train sets!
If anyone wants to know, I am working on getting pics of the new setup posted on here but my New Year's obligation with DJ Aaron as well as my family's plan for this celebration are the top priority at this time.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone, got some new information to share (as of 9:14 AM on 12/30/2019).
1.) The railroad now has two cylindrical hoppers with the road number 604301. From what I've been told, the first one is going to be retired (as a result of derailment-related damage). There is a plan to sell this car to a private party in Oakdale for use as either a mini grain elevator or a grain storage building but no action has been performed at this time.
2.) The railroad's newest covered hopper has been undergoing road tests recently but hasn't received its new reporting marks or road number yet. It turns out that I was wrong about its permanent road number too, as the Phoenix Line wants it to be known as HGFX 102407.
3.) Another of the railroad's new grain hoppers remains in the railroad's maintenance/storage yard waiting for its number to be repainted. This car was originally known as SKNX 397024, but has been allowed to rust quite badly and this rust has obscured its number on both of its sides.
Please stay tuned for further updates as the railroad's story continues.

Re: Train sets!
Happy 2020 everyone, hope you all had a great start to the new year!!!
Sadly mine didn't but that's not something I'm going to talk about in here.
Moving on, I have another update to share with all of you...
As of 5:20 PM CST on 1/3/2010, there has been some talk of the railroad spending some cash and manpower on extending the main yard at Hillside to accommodate a few more freight cars. This is only talk for now however.
Stay tuned for further updates.

Re: Train sets!
As I said in an earlier post on this thread, my new year didn't start as well as I would have liked but I'm trying to keep moving forward as best I can. Getting back to the point, There is some news regarding the Oakdale Sub to share. There have been some discussions as to the design of this but no action has been taken in terms of actually building it as of yet.DJJosh wrote:Thanks for the update Arthur. Unfortunately there is nothing to report in terms of the 3 former CP Rail Maintenance Of Way cars and the railroad's first 604301 hopper at this time, but I will do what I can to keep you all informed.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone, here's the latest news from the Phoenix Line (as of 10:30 AM CST on 1/8/2020)!
Due to some wiring changes, the common rail on the PLRX has been reversed. This means that it all trains operating on the railroad will go in the opposite direction. The change has been made in response to some power issues.
Please stay tuned for further updates as this railroad's story continues.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone, here's another update!!!
As of 9:30 AM CST on 1/10/2020, the Phoenix Line's situation looks like this:
1.) After receiving some work, the north entry track for the main yard has been returned to service. It still has some problems at this time but they are being worked out as quickly as possible.
2.) Unfortunately barley hopper 496085 continues to be problematic in Rustyville's grain complex (it keeps derailing on some switch points) even though it has received new wheels. The railroad's switching crew has discovered that this car behaves itself during slow maneuvers though, & have decided to continue doing this. This problem has been reported to the track crew as well however, and they may be going to work on it at some point in the very near future.
Please stay tuned for further updates as the Phoenix Line's story continues.

Hello everyone,
Unfortunately I have no updates on the railroad to share at this time (5:55 PM CST on 1/14/2020) but I can say that the issues I mentioned in an earlier post have not disappeared yet.
Please stay tuned for further updates as the railroad's story continues.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone, here's another update!!!
As of 4:50 PM CST on 1/16/2020 the Phoenix Line's situation looks like this...
1.) Ex-Soo Line grain hopper 70638 has been having truck issues in Rustyville's grain elevator tracks. These appear to be have been resolved now though, as the car is behaving itself.
2.) The railroad's newest cylindrical hopper remains in the railroad's equipment yard at present, as it has not received a repaint yet. This repaint has been put off due to the PLRX having other priorities to focus on.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone!
Don't have a lot to say in here today (1/25/2020) but I did have to clean some cat barf from one of the carpets in the train room not too long ago. Unfortunately a few of the grain hoppers continue to have issues negotiating some of the tracks at this time but we do not know how to fix these.
