My DJ consoles

First topic message reminder :

I'm not a broadcaster, but been djing on and off since the 80's.   I recently began re-using my equipment pictured below, which has been packed away in my crawlspace for a few years now.  My first mixer was a Gemini MX-6500 SE.

Then i brought my very first digital controller, a Vestex Spin, great little mixer for backyard mixing for friends.



Then i moved up to a Hercules DJ Console RMX. Great mixer with lots of function. 


Then i moved up to the Stanton SCS.4DJ, this is by far my favorite mixer. It is an ALL IN ONE mixer meaning you attach your music from any USB drive or flash drive and party away , you don't need a computer to mix with since it has it's own integrated display, which list your music and also display your waveform when mixing. As you can see in the image the left platter has split in two from the heat in the crawlspace, how ever it does affect the function of the platter.



Hanging out here and on Camup, has re-ignited my passion for Djing. Yes i still have all 4 mixers. In the future i hope to a few more

i think older equipment works better then SOME of the new ones. They are built better, that for sure.

It is so true, new stuff is prebuilt to fail after only a couple years now ;(.

well it was a surprise to find out my mixer was created in 2017, 3 years ago. I honestly thought it was older.  It's made by Mackie, who brought out Tabco, so it should last a while since i tend to take care of things.

Only 3 years huh. Is that the old looking one you bought off craigslist?

 Guy was selling off his old equipment,  guess he got the new stuff, so he was getting rid of the old.

dang not bad at all i paid $100 dollars for mine at guitar center when it was new back in 2016

As of 9:10 PM CST on 3/6/2020, I continue to use a very basic setup.
I would like to have and learn how to use an audio mixing board, but the former (having a mixing board) is unlikely due to issues with costs and other priorities (a.k.a relationship obligations).

well art your not missing anything all a mixer does is controls the Volume to what ever source your using there you really don't need a mixer when you have stereo mix i use a mixer cuz i have alot hooked up other wise i be doing what you and brandon do with stereo mix

cool i think it will fit being that it't going into the desk might not leave it for a while no drinks around this board kids i will have a sticky note to remind me keep drinks away from the board and what's cool is i can use the cheesy effects on the show

Yes you need to keep drinks away from both the tower and your mixer lol.

yes but i'm not worried about my tower i'm more worried about spilling drinks in the board again i was a dumb dumb for doing that

Why aren't you worried about the tower? That is the most important part isn't it lol.

not really water never effect's the tower since it's not able to get wet.

Well, i went pool pump shopping and returned home with a DJ Rack case and mixer. LOL 
Yep went to see a used pool pump and the guy happen to be selling a DJ Rack Case.  Since i can't find the Studio Desk i was looking for i figure this would be my next best option. 



And yes the mixer works very well!!

Is that a 7 channel mixer? Also how much did you pay for it and the rack?

that looks like an old 7 Channel Gem Sound mixer i never seen one of them before.
