Yeah, that yellow one is better. Maybe for regular no new and new too? Just to be a different gradient, not whole color?

I mean, Brandon will decide, just suggestion

The only problem I have with making them all that similar is that it will be harder to notice when there is a new post or not.

I am open to new icons though.

Too much different colors...

What about aomething like lightblue for no new posts and blue for new, orange for no new hot and yellow for new hot...

Locked is ok but I would like to use a bit more different color so you can see difference in first.

Also in my opinion hot threads need to have some warm colors, normal threads can have some normal like gray, blue, green, but not whole different colors, just gradients if you know what I'm talking about...

Than this annoucements and other important need to be different than others - whole different colors so noone can mistake those

the gladients is not used for flat designs but i can use it if you like 
what about something like this which is more modern 

toning down the red might be a good idea

Modern is what we are looking for. I like the 2nd one even better.

I do agree the red seems a bit bright, maybe use a slightly darker shade of red? Everythin else seems good.
