Camup General Discussion

First topic message reminder :

Hello everyone,

I make this topic today to help us get a discussion on Camup.tv going.

Camup is a pretty good site, it has both html5 and flash video players, a decent chat, free stream keys and even guest cams (though you have to become a 'donator' to activate this now)

Do any of you guys use Camup? How do you like it? I will provide my experience with it in the next post.

not that i have seen there tester they been updating the site getting it ready for Full HTML5 by 2020 they have 2 options still flash and HTML5 for video they updated the site caster to HTML5 that no longer uses flash to run next will be the guest cams to switch over

Camup now has a record your show feature on all it's channels.

I believe it is the only site to actually have a working feature like this.

the last time a Site had anything like that was Blogtv i think camup took cues from that in away

Stickam had working recordings, as did Blogtv and Justin.tv. To date, Twitch has been the only site to have one in recent years.

Great to see Camup now having the feature up and working.

I was unaware that Camup had a recording feature.

it does i used it when i couldn't archive in obs once you can only do 30 minutes per recording tho but still that's really good either way

I believe they only added it a month or so ago.

Such is an interesting and useful feature.

I haven't seen a recording feature in quite awhile, thats cool.

it is a nice feature to have when it's needed

I will still record some shows with OBS so it can go on Youtube though .

Be careful with that Brandon, as posting music on YouTube has a LOT of restrictions associated with it.
Getting back to the main point of this thread, I will continue to cast with the BGRN on Camup when time permits.

Yes that is true. I do remember Stickam having a recording feature when it did exist

Yes Stickam's was very good too, no site to this day (except for perhaps Youtube which doesn't really count) still does not have one as good as Stickam's. Stickam's recorder could record almost like an entire hour or more of a show.

Sadly every site is different when it comes to recording shows, but such is probably due to bandwidth issues. I honestly don't know for sure though, as I am not an expert on this sort of thing.

it might also have to do with server space for record time as well it's not just bandwidth.

Indeed it has a lot to do with server space. Videos tend to take up a lot of server space, and it can cost a lot of money to have hundreds of long videos on the server.

Yes that was awesome to record your whole show for an hour if you wanted to. Just one of the many features they had. But still I am don't think Camup is anything like Stickam at all

Not 100% certain of this, but I'm sure that Camup is a lot more advanced than Stickam.

It depends what way your looking at it, on the one hand it is html5 and mobile friendly and has way less ads. On the other Stickam did have a bit more features and a ton more users as well.

i find that camup is much more easy to use and half the people that where on stickam are also on camup so i would say that it's very much like it in away tho i do hope they make the Guest Cams HTML5 there still running the cams under flash still but the video player and alot of the site is HTML5 and there way ahead of ivlog as far as usability goes and it don't cost much for camup supporter only $30 Dollars much better then the $100 Bucks on ivlog for a Year and your stream Key is free to stream with and the community is very nice and willing to help others out if need be staff is great also

Well not half the people, Stickam had thousands of users and those users are scattered all over the web now. Camup is definitely the closest to Stickam there is now (aside from Youlive which may not be back up anytime soon).
