Should The FCC Shut Down Pirate Radio Stations?

I dislike the fact that the FCC shuts down Pirate Radio Stations. Even though it is illegal its not like they're doing anything bad. Correct?

What is everyone's thoughts on this topic/subject?

They may not be doing anything wrong, but every radio station needs a broadcasting license. Unfortunately these can cost a lot but that's how the world works

Agreed, but is right for them to be shut down? I mean come on, not every wanna be station owner has a couple hundred thousands dollars to buy a license. The radio tower itself is not a cheap item either.

if they're broadcasting on the regular airwaves yes, but if it's online and for a select few listeners, it shouldn't be an issue.

Even on regular airwaves, is it right? I mean licenses are not cheap, there is really no need, the music industry are being greedy, they want licenses, royalities to play the music. I mean come on now! Even the movie industry has become smart and allowed LEGALLY for people to download and play movies online. They make money off of it (Digital copies), the music industries are the only ones still on this.

I say no, they should not, due to the sheer amount of money required to operate a legal radio station. It's crazy the amount of money needed!

We know that, this topic is simply for sharing your opinion on it. Should they or should they not in your opinion .

some rules can be bent a bit, but some cannot, and there is little to nothing, we the public can do regarding that, however, it is not an issue if you say that you do not own the songs, and are playing them for entertainment only.

Ah ok.... So you think as long as the station is not using the music and stuff and means for making money, but simply to entertain people, it's alright?

they can't shut down an independent station if they give credit where credit is due. but many independent stations just don't survive for long with no funding, and end up shutting down anyway.
