Forum re-structure/re-organization
I think the site could use a cleaner forum structure. It's far from messy and definitely usable, but I feel like it could be optimized. A possible starting point I thought of could be having two main categories for hardware and software, then sorting the forums from there.

What exactly do you think we can merge? Or change? Maybe a screenshit could help me understand better?
Thanks for your suggestion

You know how we do things here, we listen to user suggestions and feedback, nothing is ever OFF the table.
I think pwn might be onto something though, a tad bit more organization can not hurt.

Well just more organized. A rework of the forum structure.

Oh! Apologies, I didn't see this.
For the equipment category, here's a start... (italics mean it's not completely neccessary)
> Equipment
-> Audio Interfaces
--> Mixers
--> Other Audio Interfaces
-> Cameras
--> Webcams
--> Video Cameras/Camcorders
--> Other Cameras

Re: Forum re-structure/re-organization
Ok, but what about microphones? Or can that stay the same. Thanks for the ideas, I work on this soon
.

Re: Forum re-structure/re-organization
Looking at it now, the structure isn't actually bad. The microphones forum COULD be done differently, but it's really a matter of preference, I think. The other way you could do it would have two sub-forums, "Dynamic Microphones" and "Condenser Microphones" but the current structure is probably better for this forum, considering we have a variety of different microphone usages among the users (broadcasting, recording, etc.).
I think the one thing to add would be a section for headphones in the Amps/Speakers forum, and rename that forum to something like "Sound Monitors".

Re: Forum re-structure/re-organization
Alright thanks pwnsomewin, I will look into to that. I will add the sections now actually. Thanks for the suggestions pwn
.
Edit: Ok, done
Here is what I did:
Created a new sub-forum for 'headphones/headsets' inside 'Ampilifers (Amps)/Speakers & Headphones'
Forum 'Ampilifers (Amps)/Speakers' has been re named to 'Ampilifers (Amps)/Speakers & Headphones'
I made 'Audio Interfaces' it's own forum instead of a sub-forum. Just seemed to work out better that way.
Added 2 sub-forums under 'Microphones' that are named 'Condensor Microphones' and 'Dynamic Microphones. I kept 'Talk Radio Microphones' and 'Music Microphones' there as well. Do you think that works?
Thanks again for your suggestions, they are greatly appericated

Re: Forum re-structure/re-organization
I'd get rid of the condenser/dynamic mic sections if you're going to keep the music and talk radio mic sections.

Alright, so you think I should remove the 2 new mic sections?.

Re: Forum re-structure/re-organization
Alrighty then, thanks for the suggestions and feedback. I will remove them now.

Forum re-structure/re-organization
How about a forum for "Other Equipment"? I was going to post a topic related to cables when it occurred to me that there's no good place for that. However, I don't think cables deserve a whole forum, so maybe a forum for just any other equipment?

Re: Forum re-structure/re-organization
Suggestion split into it's own topic so that way we won't forever discuss it in the User Suggestions thread and clutter it with a lot of posts. Topic split and marked 'Working On' ~ Brandon
Yeah, definitelly, I usually to put an 'Other' section for every section, its just we never broke it down this specific before, which is why it hasnt already been created. I will create it ASAP, thank you for all your wonderful suggestions @pwnsomewin .
Edit: Done
. Anything else do you think we can add?

Re: Forum re-structure/re-organization
that sounds like an idea worth exploring, i mean if it's about microphones, some topics can be merged to save on space

Re: Forum re-structure/re-organization
Well all the suggested sections so far has been added. If anyone has anymore ideas about some, then go ahead and suggest them. If not, if no one has anymore suggestions and all sections wdded that you want, then please let us know so we can consider this solved.

Re: Forum re-structure/re-organization
Maybe this site could introduce a "general complaints" section, but such may already exist.

Re: Forum re-structure/re-organization
Why would we want a general conplaint section. That is what mods are for, one can pm them all your complaints to them. If some reason you feel you cant send it to them, you could send it to me.

yeah, that's true.
