One he had retire because he was making mistakes and refused to down grade truck classes. The rest were probably for show, they have to make it look like they have troubles, it's for show. I bet the tv production company paid them to resign and had Adam call it "laying them off".

that's the one driver, but that driver was getting old and slowing down, but he did let go of a bunch of other crewmen

As I said, they were probably paid the show production company to resign so it can look realisitic.

it was more of a cost cutting measure

Or so they want you to think.
Re: Highway Thru Hell Discussion
that's exaclty why they were let go, when ther's no work, one can't afford to keep on the crew

I don't think you get my point. This company is on a tv show, they have money, but tv production company has to make it look realisitic so they pay the workers let go money to resign and then tell the owner to call it 'Lay offs'. It's all an act, they are acting, it is a tv show.

this is a reality show, so the layoffs are real time

Realitity shows can add in a bit of scripting into the show as well, life its self is too boring.
I didnt mean to say acting like its a movie or anything, I simply meant the people in charge of the tv show are the ones who arranged for the 'lay offs' to be made, just pay off the workers getting 'laid off' to resign and tell the owner to call it a lay off.
Re: Highway Thru Hell Discussion
not if they can avoid it, lay offs are never scripted, when there's not enough work to keep a worker on staff, they are let go to save some cash, it's just like that

Mmhhmmm That company has more then enough money. If you don't beleieve that the company has more money then most companies of their kind, then you are begining to fall into the 'believe your tv' world we live in today.

this is a reality show, and sometimes one has to cut their costs to pay the expenses, which means laying off workers at times

Reality shows still have a tiny level of scripting. The reason is simply because the people in the reality show get PAID to do or live things the way they would if they didnt have the money. So they have to PRETEND that they dont have money so they can keep things realistic and in reality to what they would do if the DIDNT have the money. So what I am saying is... Those lay offs were not because they had MONEY PROBLEMS or to cut spending, but simply to keeps things realistic to what they would be if they DIDNT have the money.
Re: Highway Thru Hell Discussion
the crew members were REALLY laid off, that's why they are not the show anymore. there was only one that was not laid off because he retired.

Do you even read my posts? I said atleast 3 times that it was not a freakin act. Just a means to make the company look like they don't have enough money to operate the company if they didnt.
Why don't people read my posts? This is going to end up like the mtv thread, where we never said it wouldn't go off air but you constantly kept saying the same thing over and over again regardless of what we said! If you had read our posts in that topic, it may still have been open. Read the posts!
Re: Highway Thru Hell Discussion
the people were really let go, it's not an act, Jamie had bills to pay, but no work coming in, so he had to cut costs, and he chose to cut them by letting the people go.
