Your preferred way of recording electric guitar/bass?
There doesn't seem to be many musicians around here yet, but thought I'd make this thread for when there's more.
How do you record your electric guitars? The two common methods I know are miking the amplifier, and sending the signal through a DI box. Personally I like miking the amp, because I feel it captures more of the energy from the playing. Whether or not that's true, I don't know. It's really all preference though; I don't mind recording directly, especially if it's for a quick recording.
Do you have a method different from the two I mentioned? Let us know, I'd like to hear!
