Train sets!

First topic message reminder :

i am also still looking for some more cylindrical grain hoppers, and also anything of interest in the way of model buildings and track-side scenery, so feel free to offer some up if you have any laying about or know how to come about them

paid a visit tonight, but still NOTHING in the landscaping department, definatley going to a long and boring summer, even with my work and the community bike shop and a buddy's flea market stall because with no landscaping, it means no operating for me all summer, AGAIN!

still spring, so the visits are continuing, but very sporadically, as the landscaping has STILL not commenced, so it means a another long and boring summer, for a second year straight, even with my bicycle work, and lake trip in August

any ideas for my summer are welcome guys. provided they are constructive

Well you could visit your #train_set and start putting landscaping up. It isn't that hard I reckon.

I also would love if you posted the #videos of your to #youtube as they both came out great (yes everyone, I have seen them).

well, the one was done with a green screen, but they did turn out well. and i still don;t know if i will be allowed to put up any landscaping, because my dad wants to be the one to do everything with that, so it's ether i go and stare at a skeleton, which i am SICK of seeing, or i sit at home and keep waiting for him to get his Ass in gear on it. even if it means i sit out for another year straight.

update, my summer this year is now officially in the bin, for a second year straight, and i am now stuck at home all summer until one weekend in august, so any ideas for how i can spend my summer, provided they are constructive, are welcome.

I have to admit that I'm not too happy at present, due to some of 1mtvfan's recent posts but I'll try and ignore them for the sake of not creating strife. Anyway, I have managed to visit the setup in the past week or so but there's been some minor electrical issues. These have been sorted out now though, and most trains are operating as normally as possible.

i still have to test my TOFC flat coupler shim job, but that will have to wait.

What is one of the couplers on one of your train cars broken or something?

no, it is a height issue

yeah, because the coupler mounts between the flat car and my three main locos were set differently

its just a coupler height issue by the way

it is now official, i am sitting out on sessions for another summer, 2 years straight, may even sit out on it this winter too, getting very close to the time i start packing up my locos and equipment and wait for the set to move back to my house, but for right now all i can say is it's going to be a miserable summer

at this rate it looks the new shim test wont happen until fall or winter at the earliest, if at all, because there has still been NO landscaping work to commence yet, so it means i sit out on running sessions for yet another summer, making me miserable for 2 years straight.

I paid a visit to the setup yesterday, and things were working reasonably well. I wasn't able to do exactly what I wanted due to a personnel shortage but such is commonplace now...

update, was able to get down to the set and test the new shim, which has worked to some degree, but more testing is in order as there are still some issues to sort out, was also able to get two new containers down there as well, but the further testing will have to wait as the builder is continuing to drag his god damn feet on the landscaping issue, so it means my summer is again wrecked for yet another year.
