Here's an update regarding the August trip (as of 7:45 PM CDST on 7/31/2020). The trip is taking place over the course of the 2nd weekend in August, and will start on Sunday (8/9/2020). I will end on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020. Now that my iPhone 5c's battery has been replaced, I will do what I can to get as many pics as possible.

I have some work to do in terms of preparing for this trip (aside from packing a travel bag), but its relatively easy work and can be completed quite easily as well. I am looking forward to this trip actually, as it will help me to forget about and/or move past all of the recent animosity and childishness that's been brought into my life recently.

Make sure you bring a camera so you post pictured for us this time.

I'm quite sure that everyone on here is well aware of what the campground I stay at during my summer trips looks like by now, but I will do what I can. I will admit that I do have a digital camera (a rather old Hewlett Packard CA 350), but find that its easier for me to use the camera on my almost as old iPhone 5c is easier to use.

True but from what the website links you showed us the other day, it looks like it's a big place. Maybe we can see some pic of the tunnels and rock carvings or whatever you them.

Hopefully we can see some pictures if it is with a digital camera too. I also hope it is a good trip to the lake

Hello everyone, I am now back from my 2nd (and possibly last) summer road trip of 2020 now! Unfortunately major mechanical issues experienced by my mom's friend forced us to abandon the plan to see things called petroforms and head back to the lake we were staying at (I'll admit that I made the foolish and rather dangerous choice to not bring my medicine along, but I wasn't expecting the van I was travelling in to die and not start again). These same mechanical issues forced me, my twin brother and mother to bring her two cats home in our car (which was already quite stuffed). Thankfully we managed to get these cats (which I have a picture of) home safely.  Sadly my digital camera wouldn't work but such was my own fault as I forgot to change its batteries before going on the overall trip. I managed to get some pics during my trip but most of them are of the trailer park. I will get them posted as soon as I can. As for the Rock tunnels, I did manage to find this YT vid



I'll admit that its not the same as getting a video straight from the source, but I don't know how to upload videos onto here from my phone.

I had a feeling that you would like that pic Brandon . I should also mention that the van seen in the 3rd pic is no longer an issue as its owner has gotten rid of it and purchased a 2020 version of it (the make and model is Honda Odyssey btw). This other van (which was a 2003 model) was having alternator issues. 

It even got to the point where it left all four of us stuck on the side of a highway with two cats (which are seen in the 2nd pic). Fortunately my mom's car was in perfect working condition, but it ended up with me forced to share its backseat with these cats (unfortunately one of these cats was freaking out due to her travel case and started to overheat). Its lucky that my mom's car has Air Conditioning though, as it certainly helped to calm this cat down long enough to get her home.

I will also mention that the 2021 trip may be the last ever time we go to this lake, as there's been talk of the trailer owner selling out and moving to a different place due to issues with some of their newer neighbors (the careless, selfish and stupid actions of these people could have attracted bears) and very restrictive rules.

Yeah car issues do suck sometimes. Perhaps next year they should let the van go in for a tune up before it has to travel such a long distance.

Also I do hope they don't sell it, as I know you enjoy going there every summer.

As I said earlier, the old van had been nothing but trouble for 3 of the 4 years that my mom's teacher friend owned it because of issues with its alternator. Such is no longer an issue now though, as she has purchased a 2020 Odyssey. In regards to the matter of selling the trailer lot (which is being rented at this time), such is a possibility due to issues with some new neighbors (whose actions could attract bears) and noise rules (which are very restrictive).

I will admit that I wasn't sure if the people in that YT vid went through only one of both of the rock tunnels when I posted its link on here. I have since learned that they take the time to go through both of them and record it though. As I said before, watching someone else going through these tunnels is not the same as actually going through them yourself but its a reasonably decent alternative.

Well those videos can be very cool too. But it is just takes them a while to upload them to YouTube. But I do always do love the pictures as it is good to see what is happening on the lake trip

Thanks Aaron, I always do what I can to keep you all informed about this trip when it happens. Unfortunately, as I said earlier in this thread, 2021 may be the last ever time I go to this lake as the person who owns the trailer I was staying in has been expressing some desire to sell out and find another place. Such is NOT guaranteed though and the ONLY thing I can do is try to patiently wait and see what happens.

Its much too early for any of us to be planning for the summer 2021 trip, but I will try and let all of you know when (or even if) its happening

Hopefully it will be a good trip next summer when ever it is planned
