MTV not Music TV anymore?

Hello everyone,

Is it me or is Music TV (MTV) not MTV any more. They play once or twice at night only, they have a ton of drama shows, they should just change the channel's name and move on. Do not call it Music TV when you do not play music ON TV. What does everyone else think?

I think what bgradio and tigertankfan mean is it might take until 2030 or something like that.

Probably longer than that, as some people still support it.

MTV WILL go off the air, it is only a matter of time. everyone is turning it off more and more often

1mtvfan, no body said it would not go off air, we are simply saying it will take MANY MANY years, as tester said 2030 or longer, they may be losing viewers but they still have supporters, they still A LOT of viewers, it will take a very very long time to kill, probably will take the longest in the USA. It will die most likely but not anytime in the near future or possibly even 20 years. That is all we are saying.

We do not doubt this point, we are just saying that tv stations take decades to befall. Especially in USA now a days.

just stick to the boycott, and as others join, the network will fall to the wayside, even changing one mind is a victory

This is not the Civil Rights movement , People will not just join a boycott of a FREE tv channel without an EXTEREMELLY good reason (besides the channel stinks). This is especially true in the USA.

How exactly can one change someone's mind about Mtv though? Yes it does not play music, but people in the USA love drama even more.

only way to win at something is to keep at it, and this is something we can only take a stand on when we work together.

if we stand untied on this, we can get more people to join up and turn the MTV channel off, thus bringing about its demise

Considering the fact that such is beyond our control, I think that its better for us to concentrate on the issues that affect us directly.

People will not boycott a tv station, sorry to say. People aren't concerned or bothered by it

if they aren't watching it, that's a boycott, if only in part

People are watching though. People in the USA LOVE drama. End of story.

well the sooner a person is clued in, the sooner they turn off MTV, and that will bring about its demise. the smart people have turned it off already

It is not that easy I am afraid.

sure it is, just turn it off, or change the channel.

I mean it is not that easy to get people on board with it. A lot or people see no problem with it.

Much to MTVfan's chagrin, there are still a large number of people who support/watch this network so I for one doubt that it will be taken off the air.
