The best place to buy microphones from?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering what you guys thought is the best store or website to buy microphones from. Why do you guys think that it is the best place? Are the prices good? Is the selection good? What kind of microphones do they sell there?


I look forward to hearing what you guys think  .

I use to buy mine at Walmart and Circuit City back in the day when they were open, but I haven't bought a microphone in a few years now, so not really sure where the place to go today is.

If I had to guess, Amazon probably has the best prices for microphones then any of the major retailors.

the best place to buy one is guitar center i got a Shure SM48 Dynamic Mic for i think $32 bucks i will be posting about that mic here soon if your on a budget and want something to use for recording or show wise the Shure SM48 is the one to chose but guitar center is the best bet if you want to buy a good mic

yep and it's well worth it too

Where did you get your previous ones from?

the old one i got from amazon and it was A mic i will never get again this year i had to retire it it was Made by Pyle it was a Yeti style mic and it was made of plastic and it started to go out on me 3 months ago during some live shows on BGRN so i got a guitar center card for my birthday and went there and got the Shure SM48 best mic i ever bought and don't regret it i have a post coming soon on that mic so stay tuned for that guys

You had that Pyle mic a good year or so tho, so it isn't like it was a complete piece of junk.

I am needing a USB mic for my shows atm, since I am unable to use the one on my Logitceh G320 analog headset due to a damn stubborn computer.

ya i thought Art had another mic he could use i still Have My ATR2500-USB it's a Condenser mic that i have only used for Jingle/Voice over work but don't use it much

I was using an APEX 440 USB mic, but my younger brother has taken this back now and I don't have another one (aside from the one on my Logitech headset). It would be awesome for Aaron to send me one of his mics, but he doesn't have my mailing address at the present time. This can be rectified very quickly however.

Do you know where your brother bought his mic?
