1mtvfan wrote:well, the relocating of equipment has already begun, all we are waiting on is the dismantling

TigerTankFan wrote:As it stands now, the setup will be dismantled and moved at some point in the spring of 2018. There are no guarantees associated with this plan however, as its builder still has employment obligations to deal with first.

1mtvfan wrote:thus making the wait even longer and more painful when it doesn't need to be, the sooner it is done, the
less the pain and suffering will be, last half of 2017 melts down to nothing but misery and boredom, no better than last year Sad

TigerTankFan wrote:I also need to mention that moving the setup won't be the easiest of tasks to complete, as it is 60' long. Unfortunately I'm not sure how wide it is at present, but I do know that it will have to be significantly compressed in order to fit in the attic space that has been allocated for/to it. As I've mentioned before, I'm not exactly overjoyed about having to compress the setup (which will be renamed after its move), but I reluctantly accept the fact that it can't be helped on account of the illness currently affecting me and 1mtvfan's grandmother (who turned 94 on 8/22/2017 by the way).

1mtvfan wrote:one more transit run soon to collect my remaining items from the former liptonville site. Then i am finished for the rest of 2017. Rip liptonville Sad

TigerTankFan wrote:Got some new information to pass along here. It turns out that there is more attic space available for the setup than first thought. The bed in half of this space cannot be removed however, which creates an issue for the building of a new setup (this will need a new name as well, but that's a low priority at the present time).

1mtvfan wrote:well, it may be just @tigertankfan running on this new layout, but i have yet to see what the new set layout will look like before making any further judgement

1mtvfan wrote:the shuttle runs continue, but they are winding down, well for me anyway, i just have a few more items to bring home, hopefully i can fit everything i have left into one load, and with that one last load, i will be out of the picture for the remainder of the year. RIP liptonville Sad

TigerTankFan wrote:Hi all! got a chance to visit the setup after a month long absence recently, and things are still in place. I've packed up a few more pieces of rolling stock though, so I only have one locomotive and boxcar on the setup now. The setup's builder has all of his steam locomotives on it as well, but I'm going to try and help him pack these when the need & time to undertake such work comes.

1mtvfan wrote:yes, they will soon be the last locomotives to operate on the layout after @tigertankfan and i have begun the process of packing up our things and sporadically moving as many of them as we can physically move all at once and bringing them home from the layout. RIP LIptonville Sad

Sorry to hear the end of the current #train_set layout that seems to be named #liptonville is starting.

It was a good run and loads of fun I am sure.

1mtvfan wrote:our grandmother is not going to get better, but i still refuse to operate on the skeleton formerly known as the LVCRR so my transport runs are continuing as i still feel this is the only option i have left, as my requests to install landscaping on the skeleton have constantly been denied, and i have had enough of being told to change my priorities to match the conformity BS, even if it means cutting my evenings short  and knocking off early every night. and as of August, it has been 6 months since i have operated any trains on the skeleton. and there's no point in operating there anymore since it's as good as dead now. goodbye liptonville. Sad you will be missed dearly.

1mtvfan wrote:coming up on 7 months for my boycott, which has been ALL summer now, and going on into the fall and winter.

1mtvfan wrote:goodbye liptonville, you will be missed Sad it's gone for us all now, thanks for 3.5 years of fun you gave us

1mtvfan wrote:and dismantling STILL hasn't started yet, I'm SICK of this BS WAITING GAME! but i am still committed to
bagging up my equipment and transporting it home load by load, no matter how long it takes.

1mtvfan wrote:good thing i haven't got much equipment left to bring home now, hopefully one or two more loads and it will be all home, RIP liptonville Sad

TigerTankFan wrote:Got a bit of an update here. There is a plan to get the setup's current home "on the market" by the spring of 2018 "as is" but its anyone's guess if this will actually happen or not (since neither our dad nor our uncle has decided to put up the cash needed to fix the many issues that the building has just yet). This gives me quite a bit of time to enjoy the setup in its current form before it has to be disassembled. As for the setup's future, the plan to reassemble it (albeit in a heavily condensed form) in some attic space that belongs to myself & 1mtvfan's parents is still in effect. I have to admit that I'm not exactly thrilled about the prospect of possibly having to permanently box up some of my model freight cars (two of them are equivalent to 89' long) but such is out of my hands for the most part.

1mtvfan wrote:and i refuse to run anything on any layout with BS rules about length and weight in place, so it's looking likely that my equipment will stay packed up for the near future. Rip liptonville Sad

1mtvfan wrote:one more update, my gran, as well as TTfan's, is getting very close to "the end" so that means that dismantling the layout will have to start soon, just to make it easier to dismantle for later, this is a decision that we have been dreading, but we have known about it for some time

TigerTankFan wrote:Unfortunately the health issues that the property owner currently housing the setup is having has forced me to start packing up my own equipment now, but a small amount of it remains on it so I am able to have operating sessions... at least for now anyway. I honestly don't know if the owner of the place that myself & 1mtvfan are renting space in will allow a replacement to be built in it attic space (or at least half of it) or not, but I'm trying to remain somewhat optimistic about the matter.

1mtvfan wrote:transit runs continue, if sporadically

TigerTankFan wrote:Spent an evening at the setup recently and had an operating session (which was frustratingly problematic). Gotta say that these sessions definitely aren't the same as when 1mtvfan was a part of the setup, but he's made his choice. He's also mentioned the possibility of tearing it down.

TigerTankFan wrote:In continuation of my post from earlier, there really is no need for the setup to be torn down at this time as it will be a while before the building that's currently housing the LCVR will be placed on the housing market (due to it needing several physical repairs).

1mtvfan wrote:update, transported more equipment home today, i just have the remainder of my grain hoppers, remaining containers, and the miscellaneous items to go, really disliking the fact that i am forced to take this action, but with BS rules in place instead of landscaping, there's nothing more i can do except transport my equipment home and pack it away to wait for the new layout, if i deem the new layout acceptable, if not, my equipment will sit in a big box for the rest of its days until i can find a way of building my own layout. RIP liptonville Sad

TigerTankFan wrote:Me and 1mtvfan's gran had a fall this past Saturday (7/29/2017), which has resulted in a minor injury, but this also means that she will be getting semi-permanent care as soon as she is released from the hospital nearest her place. Unfortunately I don't know what this will mean for the setup, but I'm mostly sure that it will remain until our uncle is ready to sell its current home. I also remain fully convinced that 1mtvfan is VERY wrong to boycott visiting Liptonville for the reasons he keeps mentioning (as its not like electrical issues are keeping him from running trains at all), but its up to him.

TigerTankFan wrote:As I said on this thread before, the "length & weight limit" rule that's now in place on the setup is meant to be a way of making sure that locomotives can last as long as possible due to prohibitive costs now associated with this hobby (especially in this millennium). I've said this before as well, but landscaping the setup is NOT the top priority for us (especially now, due to the health issues currently being experienced by me & 1mtvfan's last living grandparent but things like making money to pay bills and the lack of time due to working a standard weekday job continue to exist as well). It really makes no sense to me why 1mtvfan is letting these issues control him so much because an era in our lives is very close to ending and could happen any day now. I have mentioned the possibility of him learning how to do this kind of work more than once but nothing has come of it (which is a very hypocritical move on his part from where I stand). I also have to admit that I'm still convinced it would be silly to it now though, as it will create a LOT more (and very dusty) work for us once the disassembly work needs to be done.

Regarding the matter of getting a model train setup built in some attic space in our parent's place, what 1mtvfan doesn't (or more likely won't) understand is that we are paying rent to live in this building and, like most renters, any changes to the space they're renting isn't allowed (plus neither one of us always know if/when our parents plan to have company staying over and/or for how long). I will conclude this post by saying that I for one remain at a COMPLETE loss as to why 1mtvfan has chosen to maintain a "shoot yourself in the foot" mentality in regards to this particular situation, but such is up to him. I do wish that he would stop deliberately starting arguments about this with our dad though, as this individual has other priorities to worry about (such as paying bills in addition to providing and cooking meals for those who live in his house). The fact that I also get harassment about this (albeit rather infrequently) is an annoyance and frustration that isn't appreciated or wanted.

TigerTankFan wrote:Got an update to pass along here. As me and 1mtvfan's gran will probably be in the hospital for a little while due to her taking a fall over the recent weekend, its unlikely that I'll be visiting the setup as its home now has an anti-theft alarm with a disarming code and I don't have the best of memories these days.

TigerTankFan wrote:Newest update for the setup here (as of 20:17 hours on 8/4/2017 anyway). It turns out that me & 1mtvfan's grandmother will not be coming out of the hospital at all due to severe kidney disease and trips to the setup have been more or less permanently postponed for this reason. This particular structure still exists for now but I'm sorry to say that I've got no idea about its future.

I also need to apologize for my lack of posting in this thread as of late, but i didn't have very much information and my computer went wonky on me recently (which was bad enough to warrant a 48-hour
stay in my nearest repair shop).

Thanks for the updates on your #train_set . Sorry to hear about your grandma's health.

I hope she gets better.

I am also sorry to hear that your train set might be re locating soon.

It sure is ashame that you are choosing to pack everything up of yours, but such is up to you I suppose. I guess we will be relaying on @TigerTankFan , for any updates on your #train_set for the rest of the summer. Neutral confused

1mtvfan, what you NEED to understand is that u and I are renting rooms in our parents house and, as the property owners, they have the FINAL say in regards to how its interior space is used (and it looks like such has already happened, so there is ZERO point in arguing about the matter). I'll admit that what 3rd floor space is available isn't exactly ideal or suitable for how we want to use it but such is all we've got. I will also say that your recent behaviour in reference to this matter is making the situation noticeably more difficult & frustrating, which is not needed or wanted. Furthermore, u still seem to be completely unaware of the fact that our parents need money to pay for things (which includes the food that you eat every day). As he doesn't have a disability, the ONLY way to get money is to have a job. This work is very tiring (since its mostly physical labor), and our dad's main hobby is staying informed about world events even though we dislike it. Also, in reference to Brandon's comment, I will do my best to keep those following this thread updated but I may be out of town for a few days in either this August or September.

Thanks for the #updates on the status of your #train_set .

@1mtvfan Isn't the train set gonna be taken down and re located in the somewhat foreseeable future anyway? Why bother adding anything else to the current set up, when your only gonna have to take it all down anyway. It would be smart to put off adding anything else until after the re location is complete. Then it will probably be easier to add on to the train set in terms of decorating and stuff because it will be in the same house as you. Wink

1mtvfan wrote:it is what it is, as annoying at it is, there's little we can do about it, went to the train store to day for a look around, and bought a new grain hopper, was going to buy two, but decided not to to when i saw they were $42.00 each, also bought some wheel stops for the yard spurs. Just have to go and install them now .

1mtvfan wrote:update, we've lost yet another month of landscaping work, and now tonight is lost also, this is taking too damn long, really thinking i should pack up my equipment and wait for the new layout at this rate.

1mtvfan wrote:well, there's probably going to be one tomorrow, but it's still up in the air right now, also, another new video was made, but again, the issue is how to get it up for you all to see.

1mtvfan wrote:update, was at the LVCRR today, got some work down to lengthen a yard spur on the phase 3 yard, and did some work to switch some loads on the flat cars, 303313  now carries the scrap hopper, and 315027, the 40' flat that carried the scrap hopper previous, now carries the construction roller, pics will follow when i get some better shots, also tried to do a running session, but had electrical issues, and will be busy trying to sort them out on next visit.

1mtvfan wrote:well, it's going to get looked at tonight hopefully

Thanks for the update on your [Only mods are allowed to see this link] .

As for the video, as always you could make a youtube account and upload it onto there. It will take all of 10 minutes to do. Neutral

Train sets!

1mtvfan wrote:well, if there's an issue relating to the train set, they're going to be mentioned, in some form, but i can try to keep it subdued

SICK of the skeleton. Really really really considering packing up all of my equipment If the landscaping work continues to be made to wait, and I am not going to be talked out of it this time

1mtvfan wrote:further update, may be getting another cylindrical grain hopper, or two, but don't know yet, the new ones will be from Walthers though, which will give me two more on the grain train, but no matter how many i've got, the cylindrical hoppers always look awesome when running together

1mtvfan wrote:the DCC issues are very minor, it is the TWO winter storms that has grounded us

1mtvfan wrote:update, new grain hopper is alomst mine, because there's a plan to take 8827 back to the repair shop, so it will give me a chance to look at some new cylindrical grain hoppers

1mtvfan wrote:further update, there's been a change of plans, with my recent illness, which is only temporary, the grain hopper, 8827, and the CN b unit will have to wait for next week

well, all we can do is wait

1mtvfan wrote:newest update, 8827 has been looked at and is in the testing phase, so the trip to the shop will only be to look for more grain hoppers or other pieces of equipment.

1mtvfan wrote:yet another update, i will be sitting out on sessions at the LVCRR for summer 2017 also, as the landscaping issue has become an issue of "if" instead of "when" i am disappointed to have to pull this 2 years in a row,Sad but i feel it is the only option to get any action in motion on the whole issue. Also, I'm getting a lot closer to putting my equipment away in their boxes and then transporting everything back home and sit to wait for the new layout to be built. RIP to fun in summer 2017 Sad

1mtvfan wrote:further update, former CP Rail GP35 no. 8205 has failed the DCC test and needs further repairs, however, the new locomotive arrival, former Conrail SD45 no. 6641has passed the test and performed flawlessly, even under load, pictures follow.

1mtvfan wrote:update, went for an operating session today, which will most likely be the last operation session for 2016, and one new grain hopper from [Only mods are allowed to see this link] has made it to the rails, so it has been added to the westbound grain consist, after some minor adjustments and repairs, have to wait and see if there will be a operating session tomorrow and future sessions for 2017, because as of last October, i will always refuse to go solo anymore.

Thanks for the [Only mods are allowed to see this link] on your [Only mods are allowed to see this link] as well as for the [Only mods are allowed to see this link] of your train set.

[Only mods are allowed to see this link] May you PLEASE stop mentioning anything about the issues between you and TigerTankFan in regards to the train set. We all do not need to know about that and it would only have led to a fight on here between you two if it had not been for my foe code.

Please mtvfan, for the sake of BD, please dont mention any issues you or TTFan may be having in regards to your train set and any dis agreements you may have in regards to the train set please keep amongst yourselves and keep it off of BD.

Thanks in advance and have a Happy and Safe New Year.
