Train sets!

First topic message reminder :

i am also still looking for some more cylindrical grain hoppers, and also anything of interest in the way of model buildings and track-side scenery, so feel free to offer some up if you have any laying about or know how to come about them

Got an update for you all here,
The paintwork is completed for the most part but there's been some talk of getting the other side of the layout space repainted.
Unfortunately there hasn't been any work on the new setup started yet but such can't be helped due to other priorities.

Hello everyone,
Got another update to share. The early stages of layout construction have begun now (11/28/2018). Its only 3 sections at this time but I'm confident that this number will increase as the days and/or weeks go on.

Hello everyone,
As of today (12/1/2018), there are 7 sections in the new setup. Unfortunately a support leg has been replaced but such has done nothing to hamper any further construction.
I'll try to keep people informed about this matter as best I can.

As I said in an earlier post on here, I do my best to keep everyone following this thread informed. Also, Aaron can look at some of the earlier versions of this particular thread to see some of its history and a number of decent photos related to it.

Hello again everyone,
Been doing a count of the locomotives owned by the Phoenix Line Railroad... and have discovered that it has 56 units! Sixteen of these locomotives are in a state of disrepair however.

Latest update on the new setup here everyone!
Unfortunately the many priorities of life (including my 38th birthday) have forced the construction to be halted for now, but I remain mostly optimistic that it will resume soon.

Just a quick update here folks,
There's going to be storage shelving built into the new setup's legs but it won't be anytime soon as the many priorities of life are being focused on at present.

Hello everyone,
Another update on the PLRX from me here (as of 14:45hrs on 12/72018).

A tunnel portal has been cut and a piece of horizontal decking that was removed for testing purposes has been reinstalled. The "bedroom" section of the area that the PLRX is supposed to occupy remains as is for now but we are doing everything in our power to get in touch with someone who is interested in helping us resolve this matter. The other (and relatively minor) issue in this continues to be is getting a piece of decking into space between a previously installed decking section and the wall.

Unfortunately the construction process continues to move slowly but it is progressing.

Greetings all,
Here is another update regarding the status of the Phoenix Line Railroad.

The setup now has minimal shelving underneath the main layout decking, and it is being used as of today (12/9/2018). There are plans to install more of this as soon as physically possible however, as I still have some boxes as well as two old suitcases full of model train locomotives and cars (both freight and passenger).

Please stay tuned for further updates as the construction progress continues.

Re: Train sets!

Post by TigerTankFan on Mon 10 Dec 2018, 7:51 pm

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to say that not too much work was done on the setup today (12/10/2018) but an old shelf has been taken down in order to prep the site for the installation of more horizontal decking and shelving. Some free-standing shelving units have been provided for me to use, but an old shelving unit is going to be removed and disposed of on account of it being slightly too tall for use underneath the new setup. According to my dad, the bed and desk in the "Bedroom" area of the train room will fit underneath the new setup but we haven't reached this point in construction yet.

Please stay tuned for further updates as the construction progress continues.

Hello again everyone,
A further update on the setup for 12/10/2018 here!

My dad has managed to draw a preliminary track plan for the Phoenix Line Railroad now, but construction of the physical support system is still ongoing at this time. I have no doubt that the track plan will change as time goes on but its good to have a somewhat basic idea of what the new setup could or may look like.

Please stay tuned for further updates as the construction progress continues.

Got another update to pass along (as of 12/13/2018)

Hello everyone,
Here's another update on the construction of the PLRX (as of 15:40hrs on 12/14/2018).

Another section of decking has been added to the new free-standing table structure and this has been moved into its intended place. A "guardrail" of sorts has been installed as well but its not doing any guarding as yet. This structure will have shelving too but the ever-present priorities of life have forced my dad to bring construction to an end for the day.

Please stay tuned for further updates as the construction progress continues.

Hello everyone,
I sure hope that all of u are having a great holiday season at present.
Anyway, here is another update regarding construction of the PLRX.

As of today (12/15/2018), there is the start of a center section in existence and some shelving has been installed on the section constructed over the course of last week. A lot of work is left to be done however and, unfortunately, it probably won't be started or completed before my family celebrates Christmas 2018.

Please stay tuned for further updates as the construction progress continues.

Unfortunately I have no updates to share with you all today (12/19/2018), but such is because of priorities related to Christmas 2018.

Hello everyone!

Been digging through my collection of model freight cars and found a pair of 89' autoracks that I own. I had to test these in the one tunnel bore that has been made and, thankfully, they will pass through it just fine. As predicted, there are no construction updates to mention due to the upcoming Christmas celebrations.
