Re: Train sets!
further update, if the work on the landscaping has not commenced by month 12, i will be packing up my equipment and saying goodbye to the layout for the entire year, this may sound depressing, but this is my choice and it must be accepted, as it is I that can only decide on what choice to make about this matter and all matters relating, and i feel this is the only choice that is left to me, should the landscaping work not commence.

Thanks for these rather sad updates on your [Only mods are allowed to see this link] .
We haven't gotten [Only mods are allowed to see this link] of it in awhile and I guess we will continue to not have any for long time.

Re: Train sets!
I was at the setup yesterday, and there was a leaking water pipe that damaged the setup. However, this damage is minor and will not affect the operation of the setup. As for pictures, I did have a maintenance-related pic on my iPhone but its been deleted now. Unfortunately I won't be visiting the layout until next week, but I will try and get some new pics then

Re: Train sets!
I should also mention that I had some accidents on one of my visits to the setup. In one the window screen that we placed on it was a big help but it had no effect on the 2nd one. Some of my model freight cars hit the floor and exploded in this accident, but no real damage was done.

that's why we added those safety nets, so it good to hear they have done their job, if only to a limited extent

Exploded!?! That doesnt sound good. Do you mean exploded like they went boom and caught fire or just more like obliterated and pretty much came apart, to a point beyond repair and those are done for?

Good to see you have safety nets in place. Perhaps some more should be in place to cover the not so protected spots?

Re: Train sets!
they just came apart, as in body and under frame separated, and we canm't add safety nets every where due to clearance issues

Re: Train sets!
As most model train cars and locomotives are not fireproof, there was no explosion in the usual sense. What actually happened was that two in my collection hit the floor and either came apart (their body separated from their frame) and/or lost couplers & wheels (albeit temporarily). In response to the comments about safety netting, there are some nets in place already but certain places cannot be fitted with these due to accessibility issues.

Just a quick question here, is any more [Only mods are allowed to see this link] or work on the [Only mods are allowed to see this link] going to happen anytime soon? Or is it all on hold until such a time as the train set is taken apart and moved to it's new home?

Re: Train sets!
well, there's going to be some work done on the landscaping one our father is done work for the winter, which isn't too far off now, or at least that is the plan, also, former CN rail F9B 4350 has returned from the workshop, so it will start work on the liptonville larkstar soon as a supplemental power unit for grade work

Re: Train sets!
Unfortunately news on this matter is hard to come by these days, due to medical appointments and special events being planned. I will try and get some updates posted as soon as I can though, since most of BD's users seem to enjoy following the progress of this thread.

Well any news or pictures or anything would be nice yes. Just as long as no bickering occurs.
